Indoor / Outdoor 

Normal OSP (Outside Plant) cables can only be taken into buildings for a very short distance, due to fire codes.  This means that in many installations, a splice point must be added in order to transition from the OSP cable to an Indoor-Rated design.  Indoor/Outdoor cables eliminate this expense by combining the performance capabilities of both cable types into a single design.
